CCS 4.1.2 launching slow and crashes: reason?

Hi,

I would like to ask some questions on the launching comparison between CCS 4.1.2 and 3.3

Still another question: Is "Launching Debug Session" in 4 particularly slower than in 3.3? I have asked this question before, and I found that the chance launching gets hanged in CCS 4.1.2 is much larger than in CCS 3.3, and CCS 3.3 never runs into any workspace crash problem, which appears to be much more stable than 4.1.2 at least in this regard.

Two questions:

Why slower?
Why hangs sometimes?
Why workspace crashes? Due to eclipse?

You'll definitely want to check out CCSv5. We hope to address those issues you mentioned.

Ki-Soo,

My emulator is from SEED and they haven't released driver for CCS 5. I only have CCS 4 driver for their emulator. Does CCS 5 work with CCS 4 driver?

You will need drivers for v5. You can try contacting SEED and see if they have some early versions of v5 drivers to try.

If you can't move to v5 yet, note that your v4 version is pretty old and you can update to the latest v4 version. The latest version is 4.2.4 and there have been a lot of fixes since 4.1.2.

I have the latest V5 installed last week and it was working fine on Friday. This week I cannot debug, it hangs at "Launching Debug Session" and can only be killed with the task manager. I am running Win 7 Pro 64 bit.

The XDS510 USB emulator tests fine from the ccxml setup.

I am disappointed that this bug has been reported for 2 years now since V4 and it is still not fixed.

How do I recover my system and fix it?
