[CCS5] Opening CCS only opens Eclipse?

Hello,

I seem to have a pretty stupid problem and I guess it might be mighself.

However, I need your help.

I just installed CCS 5.1 and when I start it, only thing that opens is Eclipse Indigo in its JAVA EE perspective.

Trying to switch the perspective to something CCS looking does not work, because there is no such perspective.

I´m pretty new to this. What am I doing wrong?

Thank You

Maxi

  • Maxi,

Did you install CCS into an existing CCS installation?

When I look at my 5.1 installations I don't even see the JAVA perspectives as being available.  Window -> Open Perspective -> Other

If you installed CCS into an existing Eclipse installation or ran the update check and updated Eclipse from inside CCS that would have an impact on the default perspectives.

    Regards,

    John

  • Hello John,

when installing CCS5.1 there was an option "install into existing eclipse installation" and indeed, i checked that box, because I thought it was a good idea.

I tried and tried to get the default CCS perspectives into that installation but I didnt manage to do so.

I now deinstalled everything and set up a new eclipse as well as CCS again and didnt choose to make it one installation.

I now have them both running without problems.

    Thank you for your help.

    Maxi

  • I have the same problem Maxi, but this time i'm using the CCS v5.2. Isn't there any solution for using the existing eclipse installation? (...) Anyone?
