GCC AARCH64 Compiler not recognized in CCS12.5

Hi,

I have an am64x and would like to use the sdk AM64x MCU+ SDK  09.00.00.
Regarding to the"getting started" chapter of the documentation, the GCC AARCH64 Compiler is required for A53 development in am64x.
The link in the documentation downloads a tar.xz file. After unpacking it to the ti-directory (C:/ti), CCS12 is not able to detect the new compiler. Therefore I am not able to compile the a54-examples of the sdk.

Help is much appreciated.

Link specified in the documentation: WINDOWS GCC AARCH64 CROSS COMPILER

  • Hi

I will assign to the compiler team to see if they have any quick  inputs.

Please do make sure you are aware that all of AM64 A53 MCU+ SDK Free RTOS and bare metal offering in the SDK is "experimental" and provided as is. We recommend Linux on A53 cores. If you need RTOSs for your production application, you may also want to evaluate VxWorks and Green Hills Integrity offerings

  • After unpacking it to the ti-directory (C:/ti), CCS12 is not able to detect the new compiler. Therefore I am not able to compile the a54-examples of the sdk.

What is the root folder path? CCS should be able to detect it in C:/ti:

  • Hi,
thank you, unfortunately it did not work with Version 9.2.1. CCS did not recognize the product. Also when I used the toolchain to build the example using the makefile, it did not work (during linking it did not find the collect2.exe).

I downloaded a newer version 10.3.1, CCS detected it and also building with makefiles worked.

Therefore I think, either something went wrong during unpacking the 9.2.1 release or there is another bug.

  • Perhaps there was and issue with either the download or extraction. I downloaded the same package using the same link in the documentation and CCS 12.5.0 did discover it.
