Debugger/emulator problems with 6616/6618

Hi,

I'm trying to run the emulator on a Lyrtech 6618 EVM board. I tried both the package-included target configurations:

EVMTCI6616 USB.ccxml
EVMTCI6616 USB Daisy Chain.ccxml

After moving around and renaming a number of xml files, as required by these target configurations, I got around all xml include path errors. But now, when I try to launch a debug session, I get an exception as follows:

Exception occurred during launch

Reason: Failed to initialize the Debug Server

Reason:
Can't generate the board data file <a long path>BrdDat\ccBoard0.dat
An internal error occurred while expanding the scan-path description.

I don't get any debugger dmp output. I do get some log output which I am attaching. I can summarize my xml move and rename operations if that seems to have an effect. How can I get this working?

Oh, this is with CCS Version: 4.2.4.00033 on WinXP.

Hi again,

I also tried creating a new target configuration from scratch using TMS320TCI6616 as the board/device with XDS100v2 USB Emulator. I have a bit more success with that setup in that I could launch the debugger fine. When I try to connect the target, however, I get the following:

Error connecting to the target:

(Error -2131 @ 0x0)

Unable to access device register. Reset the device, and retry the operation. If error persists, confirm configuration, power-cycle the board, and/or try more reliable JTAG settings (e.g. lower TCLK).

(Release 5.0.429.0)

Again, any help is appreciated on either approach.

Please contact your local FAE to obtain support for the TCI6x parts and development boards, since they have complete access to these kits and can better help you.

Thanks Rafael. I finally got the boards to work. It turns out that there was a combination of not following proper install instructions for this bleeding edge board distribution and one of the three test boards being faulty.
