CCSv4 licensing problem on VMware Player 3

Hi !

I running CCS 4.2.4.00033 on a VMware Player 3.1.4 running Win XP SP3.

I have a floating licence.

If I try to use CCS on a host PC running Win XP SP3, I have no problem, I have "Code Composer Studio (Licensed) on the top of the CCS windows in all cases.

On CCS running on the VMware Player, I have "Code Composer Studio (Licensed : X days Remaining).

I can see in the file "licenselocation.txt" that the license server address and port are OK.

You must have clicked to use the 30 day eval on that installation. CCS will keep using the eval until it expires and then will look for another license.

Just adding to John's response, can you ping the license server from inside the Vmware to check for any network issues? Also, check if the configuration of the VM network is set to NAT - your best shot is if it is set to bridged, as it becomes part of the same network as your PC (NAT will translate the address and may cause communication problems). At last, check your firewall configurations in the guest OS.

The ping to the license server from inside the VMware works fine.

The VM network is set to bridged.

The firewall is desactivated because of network administration rules.

So you should be good once the eval license expires.

The eval license has expired today.

CCS shows "Unlicensed" in the title bar but the debugger still working with an XDS510USB emulator ... OK !!??

My bet is that it has switched to trying to use the license server but is not able to get a license from the server. In this situation it lets you keep working with CCS while you resolve the problem

What is the timeout between 2 access to a license from the server allowing a normal operation of CCS in unlicensed ?
