What host OS are you running on?

What is the version of Java you have installed? (check on the DOS prompt by typing "java -version")

Thanks for the quick reply.  Here is the info you required:

CCS version = 4.2.4.00033

Window 7 Ultimate
Service Pack 1
64-bit Operating System

java version "1.7.0"

I've been running into the same problem.

I'm running on Windows 2000 with java 1.6.0, and CCS 4.2.4.  I used dependency walker to check if DebugServer.dll was missing any dependencies, and after adding common/bin, debugserver/win32, and debugserver/bin/win32 to the search path the only missing dependency was apphelp.dll, which I understand to be optional.

Can somebody explain what the error means and what other steps I can take to try and fix it?  Does the error just mean that DebugServer.dll has an unmet dependency?

SOLUTION: Uninstall CCS V4. Delete all of its directories. Then start to setup CCS V4 but do not setup platinium option. Choose microcontroller setup option. The problem will be fixed.
