GUI CCSv4 and Plugins WindowBuilder

hi,

I am making a GUI through CCS, for this I have begun to study the plugins ...

I first installed Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers and Web windowBuilder well it has worked to build a GUI with buttons andother elements that need ...plugins but the time to take steps to make the same error I am CCSv4 .. and will not let me install or upgrade ...

I refer to the following link http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Category:CCS_Plugins

recommended but can not find information similar to the "WindowBuilder"

the information about the plugins I found it in

http://download.eclipse.org/windowbuilder/WB/release/R201106211200/3.7/

thank very much

  • Hi Ivan,

A few things here.  First of all, as mentioned on the wiki page you found, CCS v4 has limitations when it comes to plug ins.  This is because for this CCS version Eclipse has gone through slight modifications by us.    Also note the plug in you reference is built for a newer version of Eclipse than that used so is quite possibly incompatible.

The best thing I can suggest is to upgrade CCS v5.1 (http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Category:Code_Composer_Studio_v5#Downloads)  This version of CCS is based on Eclipse as it is and therefore accepts next to all plugins.   Please note two things

    - installing certain Eclipse updates is currently known to change the behaviour of CCS 5.1 (this is mostly things such as the default perspective, flash screen etc)

    - you will need to first go into Window->Preferences->Install/Update.  Expand so you see the option for setting the available sites.  You will need to disable any error generating sites (eg as of a week or so ago in order to even do a proper search for updates blackhawk and xdias sites had to be deselected from the list here.  You can then go to Help->Install New Software and search for and install the update you reference to try.

I hope this helps and all the best.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

the windowbuilder I worked very well with the CCSv5 ...

at this point I am making a GUI and I wonder if I can make throughthis interface to upload and download the file *.out for the DSP

    I am using to connect to a XDS100v2 EZDSPF2812 ...

thank very much for the help

  • Hi Ivan,

I myself have no experience with Windowbuilder.  Now that we are standard eclipse based and open to many plug-ins, unfortunately we can not try and verify all ourselves.

So unfortunately I myself can not give you a 100% - yes you should be able to grab all you need or no answer.

I suspect so, however I have noticed your new post.  Hopefully it will get you in contact with someone more familiar with the plug-in who can help!

In the mean time I will go ahead and close this post.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa
