CCS licence not taken into account

Hello,

My customer was using a free version of CCS. This version is abouut to expire, hence he has purchased a license. He has activated his CCS licence. He received his .lic file and save it on his HDD. The activation has been made with a MAC address that matches his WIFI card but this card is not always on.

now he cannot have the CCS licence to be taken into account. Actually, when he browse his HDD to associate his CCS with the lic file, he finds the lic file. then he selects this lic file but nothing happens (no wearning, no error message). the licence is not properly associated - the CCS licencing windows still says that his licence is about to expire.

My questions are :

  • can the WIFI card MAC address be used for the licence activation? if yes, does it bring some special constraint when we do the licence association phase?
  • in case the WIFI MAC address does not fit, which MAC address has to be used (there are as many MAC address as you have network device on your lapop)/

thanks in advance adn best regards,

Agnès

  • Agnès,

CCS will keep using the 30 day eval license until it expires.  Once it expires it will then look for another license.

I wouldn't recommend using the MAC address of a device that is not always going to be present.  It doesn't matter which one you use but it should be something that is always going to be on.  It is possible to specify 2 MAC addresses, so they could specify the MAC of the WiFi adapter and one of the other ones that are present.

    Regards,
