Hi!

I would like to count the clock cycles required for some PRU instruction at different clock settings in LP-AM243.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to enable the Run->Clock in CCS (version: 12.6.0.00008) and the CYCLECNT reg. in Registers tabs always 0x00000000.

However it works for my colleague!

Could someone help me to fix this?

Are you trying to enable this from the debug context of the actual PRU?

Yes, I tried to count the clock cycles on ICSS_G0_PRU_0 for a basic assembler code. The other cores are disconnected.

The availability of the profile clock varies depending on the core. I did not think the PRU supported a profile clock. You mentioned that it works for your colleague. Can you confirm that he was actually debugging the PRU when using the profile clock (a screenshot of the whole CCS IDE would be helpful).

Ok. For my colleague, the Debug->CYCLECNT in the Registers tab gets incremented after an instruction is executed.

For some reason the Debug->CONTROL->COUNTENABLE is ENABLED for him by default.

I did it manually and now I could count the clock cycles. Please refer the attached screen shot.
