code exceeds size limits (CCS3.3.82/CGT6.0.2

I have a licensed version of CCS3.3, and when I switch to CGT 6.0.2, i get this error message.

  • Where did you get the 6.0.2 compiler from?  The one you are using is code size limited.

  • Where do I get the full version? it does not appear in my CCS updates.

  • The update advisor inside CCSv3 won't show you the 6.0.x compiler releases.  That compiler is recommended for use with CCSv4 or CCSv5.  If you download the 6.0 compiler from another site it is going to be code size limited as we do not post our full C2000 compiler for free outside of CCS.

Is moving to CCSv4/5 an option.  If your subscription is current on 3.3 then you could get a free upgrade.  Alternatively most of the C2000 development kits come with an XDS100 class emulator on the board.  You can use a free CCSv4/5 license with XDS100 with no code size limit.  You can just download and install CCS, when you run for the first time there is an option to generate a "free limited license" for xds100/dev kits.

  • My current subscription is for CCS3.3, how do I get the v4 free upgrade?

    Thanks.

  • Omer,

If you contact ccs_subscriptions@list.ti.com they can check the status of your subscription.

For CCSv3.3 we had two different versions.  Platinum and C2000 only.  For Platinum when you purchase it it came with 12 months of subscription and you could renew it each year.  For the C2000 version it came with 12 months of subscription but did not offer renewals as it was priced much cheaper.

    Regards,

    John
