Can't connect to XDS110

Hi Eduardo,

Smart RF Flash Programmer is not recommended, it has not been updated for a while, so the firmware that it would flash to XDS would also be an old version. Please Uniflash instead of flash programmer.

If the firmware update is disturbed, it bricks the launchpad. Please follow this guide to recover your launchpad. It is the answer marked as resolved in this thread. 

You would have to flash the bootloader and the XDS firmware again.

Following the tutorial you sent me in the linked thread, I could only execute the "installing bootloader" section.

When I try to upgrade the firmware the following error happens:

Just some more information that I hope can be useful:

I noticed that now when I connect the LP to the notebook, Uniflash detects the following:

Is it possible to flash the firmware using this?

After I load the bootloader this is what shows in the console:

Then if I try to flash the firmware it shows the message I showed you before. I don't know if it makes any difference, but I am flashing both bootloader and firmware files on the LP without any jumpers connected (from XDS to CC).

Just want to make sure. Did you check the physical connection needed to load the bootloader, it is not loaded directly using the usb, but through the JTAG connector that is seen when you flip the launchpad, next to its top right corner.

Yes. I am using another launchpad to launch the bootloader. I have connected some jumpers to the Tag-Connect and connected to the JTAG connector:

Hello Eduardo,

Were you ever able to connect to the device in the past using your XDS110 setup? Also, you are using the XDS110 on another launchpad as the debug probe. If you restore the jumpers back to the original settings, are you able to connect to the device on that launchpad?

Hi Ki,

Yes, I have connected to the device before, I used it with Smart RF Studio 7 and it was working as expected. It stopped connecting after I used the Smart RF Flash Programmer and it requested to update the firmware. After I tried to update it whit the software and it showed a message error it stopped working.

Now if I restore the jumpers and connect the LP to the notebook using an USB cable, Uniflash only detects it as a XDS110 debug probe:

This is because the serial number is all 0's. Are you able to connect to the device via uniflash?

Yes. If I "click to manually select" I am able to open it:

Opening a session does not require connecting to the device. 

Can you either flash a program or view the contents of target memory?
