Attempting to obtain Trace Information from the ETB on the DM3730 processor using CCSv4.2.4

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DM3730

I followed the instructions in http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/ETB to set up a trace control on the DM3730 board from LogicPD.

I am using the Blackhawk USB 560-M emulator with the 20 pin JTAG cable.

When I set up the Trace Control i.e. Tools->Trace Control, select CSETB and click OK, I get the message

Failed to execute runnable (java, lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: isSTM)

Unhandled event loop exception

Even if I ignore this and run the code and set up trace jobs, I do get the above message again and I dont see any trace Data recorded.

Please help.

  • Did you ever resolve this issue?  Sorry that this fell through the cracks.  I'm going to move the post to our CCS forum where I believe you'll have an audience better equipped to answer this particular question.

When you were creating your target configuration did you make sure to select the "20 pin" version of the Blackhawk emulator?  Even if you have a 14-pin header on the board, the target configuration is based on the emulator itself.  I also always recommend that on the "advanced" page you click on the emulator itself in the tree and choose the TCK as "adaptive with user specified frequency".  Set it to 20 or 30 MHz.

  • This sounds like a problem with the CCS installation. Let me know if this is still an issue.
