How to start new project in CCS v4??

Hi folks

Ive read a load of getting started documentation etc but havent found information on how to start a new project in CCS v4

All info just starts with an already setup example project, but Ive done that and want to now start my own project for F28027 PT using multiple peripherals.

I see the option in File>New>CCS project, but is there documentation on the recomended settings furing the new project wizard and how to set up the correct configuration files, macros.ini and Gel files for a new project??

There is a presentation that guides you through creating your first new project. It will explain what the various fields are for in the wizard.

As an FYI, creating a new project in v5 is much easier if you want to think about upgrading - one page wizard and you are done. It will even auto-generate your ccxml file for you.

In addition to Ki's pointers, if you want to use one of the examples provided with ControlSuite as a starting point and modify it for your needs, then you may find this page helpful: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Creating_copy_of_example_project

When working with peripherals for which examples already exist, it is sometimes helpful to start with those example projects since the common header files, linker command files, and part of the code is already set up for you.

whats a ccxml file?!!

first time Ive heard a mention of it!

arrggghh the documentation for any one thing is so fragmented its really frustrating when you dont already know every thing!

EDIT: figured out a ccxml file is the configuration file.
