LP-CC1352P7: Question about Analog Signal Chain Studio and Sensor Controller

Dear TI Engineers,

I have done a Wi-SUN COAP OAD firmware project on a CC1352P7 launchpad successfully. Next step is to integrate some sensors codes into my COAP firmware project.

I have chosen my BP-BASSENSORSMKII. I am also able to add their entries in my project through Analog Signal Chain Studio plugin.

I also know how to export a Sensor Controller Studio project to a CCS project.

However, when I tried to browser Sensor Controller Studio example project for I2C bus sensor, there is none for CC1352P7.

Now, my question is:

Is there Sensor Controller Studio example project for I2C bus sensor? Could you provide one for developers?

I hope you are doing well. In our sensor controller studio, we do have some I2C examples, like I2C Light sensor, and I2C Temperature sensor (under LauchPad SensorTag kit).

Another question is:

If I enable "Analog Signal Chain Studio" plugin and import codes generated by "Sensor Controller Studio" into the same CCS project, will they conflict with each other`s codes?

Hello Tim Cruise,

As analog is not my field of expertise so I cannot guarantee that these tools will not conflict with one another, I would say pay attention to the pin assignments and what resources are in use between the two; so manual checking is likely needed here.

Another question is:

The default demo project of LPSTK-CC1352R is for Bluetooth.

On this Sensor Tag kit, there are 2 sensors, namely:

ADXL362 Linear Accelerometer
DRV5032 Hall Effect Sensor

So where can I get their drivers for other CCS Projects? I cannot find the original demo project on the SDK. My goal is to integrate their drivers into another Wi-SUN project.

Hello Tim,

After looking a bit at the CC1352R links looks like in the recent SLAs we have less information about the tools, more specifically we have a tutorial for Analog Singal Chain but it is a bit old:

Analog Signal Chain Studio Basics (ti.com)

We also have a sensor controller studio tutorial:

Sensor Controller Fundamentals (ti.com)

As mentioned that both of these are for the older versions of the SDK/SLA so may not be fully supported today.

I may need to ask around about the "drivers" specifically; and you may need to create a separate Wi-SUN thread to get help from the WIFI team by the way.

Hello Alex,
I have found an example project for ADXL362 Linear Accelerometer in Sensor Controller Studio. I guess this project has the driver. I am trying to export this to a CCS Wi-SUN project.

Here are some more questions:

Will you provide Sensor Controller Studio support to the upcoming CC1314R10? This is very good to work as a Wi-SUN COAP node:

Whenever we configure a sensor, for example an OPT3001 light sensor of a BAS Sensors BoosterPack MK II, from within CCS SysConfig, does SysConfig automatically connect the sensor to MCU`s Sensor Controller Processor and generate the necessary codes for this CCS project?
How do we export two or more Sensor Controller Studio supported sensor project codes, for example ADXL362 Linear Accelerometer and DRV5032 Hall Effect Sensor, into the same CCS project?

Hi Timmy,

1- Sensor Controller Studio 2.9.0 already support CC1314. Select the project you want, then open it. After this you can select the device (chip) you want:

3- In order to have several Sensor Controller projects coexisting on the same device, you should ensure to merge the projects within Sensor Controller Studio.

So SysConfig GUI does not generate codes to work with Sensor Controller Processor, does it?

Hi Tim,

Indeed, SysConfig does not generate code to the Sensor Controller.

You have to use Sensor Controller Studio for that purpose.
