Does CCS support JAVA development?

Now,I find CCS suppot the Android Project, but I find no Java Project.I hope to study Java by CCS,then study Android,so who can tell me CCS can be configurated for Java development?

  • Hi,

CCS comes with CDT Environment, suitable for C/C++ Development.

However, it is entirely possible to add Java support by adding the Java Development Tools (JDT) Environment. Check some references on the web about this:

    http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/m/556582/

    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2642069/eclipse-is-it-possible-to-have-cdt-and-java-ide-together

In CCSv5.1 the install new software selections are in the screen attached.

    Hope this helps,

    Rafael

  • Thanks,It really works.Eclipse is a powerful tool to support multi-languages development. And CCS will show its anvantages in embedded software coding and debugging .

  • Argh.  This isn't working for me.  I'm using CCSv5 version 5.1.0.09000, but when I try to install the JDT I get the dependency conflict noted below.  This is confusing because I'm trying to load the same version of the JDT as described in the answer above.  Any known solutions to this?

    Thanks!

    M.

  • CCS is based on Indigo release (from end of June). It includes two eclipse projects. Eclipse platform and CDT. I think you are trying to install JDT Indigo SR1 (service release), which is generating an error that it can not satisfy a dependency. Most likely JDT SR1 has a fixed dependency on some plugins in eclipse platform to be also up to SR1 level. I have not tried this out but in theory you should be able to upgrade Eclipse/CDT in CCS to SR1 level. You will need to enable eclipse indigo update site Window->Preferences -> Install/Update and click on Available Software Site and enable " http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/3.7 ". It is disabled by default due to issue described in forum post below(there is a manual one time workaround described in that same forum post). Try installing JDT after upgrading.

  • Great!  Thanks Martin, that fixed the problem!  Now I can do Java development, too, in CCSv5...
