Hi folks

my project was building fine up uintil a few moments ago, but now its giving the below errors, the only thing I can think of that I changed is that I added a new int var (x=0;), which ive removed again but with no change...

Errors:

errors encountered during linking; "Project_control.out" not built

placement fails for object ".text", size 0x875 (page 0). Available ranges: progRAM size: 0x800 unused: 0x7e5 max hole: 0x7e5

Any suggestions? (CCs v4 XP, F28027 ControlSTICK)

That error message says that your ".text" section is too big to fit into progRAM. ".text" is 0x875 bytes, and progRAM is only 0x800 bytes total. Variables are not located in ".text", so something else must have changed.

thanks for your reply..

I figured something had got to big, so switched to Flash, problem solved.... though I would like to get back to working from RAM later on. Would code size affect this item?

The ".text" section is for program code, so yes.
