CCS Assembly Mnemonics

Hallo,

The CCS Assembly does not recognize some Mnemonics like:

PREAD

C28OBJ

I mean, the CCS Assembly is able to compile it, but these mnemonics do not appear in the Italic Format.

Someone could help me to include these mnemonics in the CCS library ?

I know it is a stupid issue, but  I do not feel confident and I have to check all the time the .lst file to verify such instructions.

Thanks a lot for your attention

Wail

  • Hi Wail

It doesnt matter if the instructions are not in italics. If its not a valid instruction the assembler will complain about it with an error.

If you want to set the C28OBJ bit use the instruction SETC OBJMODE

Please confirm that the device executes that instruction in disassembly.

The following guide is a good place to find additional info about the instruction set: http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/spru430e/spru430e.pdf

  • Hallo Vishal,

    Thanks for your answer !

I already know all of it !

As I mentioned in my post, it is a stupid issue related exclusively to cosmetics aspects of my environment of work.

I would like to know how can I have the an automatic recognition of mnemonics like PREAD, C28OBJ, etc, and
automatic formating as Italic, similar to all other mnemonics. Only this !!!

It is realy stupid, but I would like to have homogeneity in my environment of work.

Anyway, I am grateful to you for your attention

  • Wail,

Just an additional comment: the syntax coloring in the next version of CCS (v5) is different from the existing v4. We moved to a newer version of Eclipse in CCSv5 and are trying to stay with stock Eclipse without making custom modifications. In CCSv5 assembly instructions are no longer in italics and so all of them including PREAD etc. will look consistent. I couldn't find a way to easily change the syntax for assembly instructions in CCSv5 (it would normally be done from Window->Preferences->C/C++->Editor->Syntax Coloring, but there is only control over assembly directives and labels, not instructions).
