TCF Configuration Tool failure with CCS 5.1

Hello,

When using CCS 5.1, and Configuration Tool to change a TCF file, it often produces this error when trying to save changes:

followed by

y

This always happens when:

1)     a first change is made, then saved

2)     some pause, with Configuration Tool left open

3)     a second change is made, and save attempted again.

Is a known bug, with workaround?

Thanks,

Robert

  • Hi Robert,

What build are you using? I saw this happen in earlier 5.1 builds but I believe it is fixed in the later one, like the current M9 build.

  • Ki,

Did you mean the Version of CCS?  If so, it is 5.1.08000.  I checked for updates, and see this:

Are either of these the "M9" build?  If not, as a side question, can you tell me what these updates would be for?

    Thanks,

    Robert

  • You are using 'M8'. I believe this issue was fixed post M8.

the updates you see are for various components installed in your CCS installation. neither will update you to M9. One is an Eclipse update and the other updates the emulation drivers.

I don't think you can do full Mx updates incrementally. You will have to do a full install of M9.

  • Ah, that's unfortunate.  Full install will wipe out all my settings, preferences, projects, etc?  Seems a bit odd to have to go through all that, just to get an update to an existing component (Configuration Tool).

No, just point the new install to the same workspace folder you are using with your current install.

True. But these 'Mx' builds are pre-release builds so we don't have all the updating setup yet. Once the product is actually released, you will be able to do incremental updates in the future.

    Thanks

    Ok, good.

    Thanks,
