Including error in CCSv4.2

Hi frineds,

I get build error in CCSv4.2. Next I tried again but this time with one of the BSL project USB_test on AM1808 into CCSv4.2. The error is as followes,

option --include_path is missing its parameter 'dir'

I iclude the relevant inc folder using Build properties, but the error continues.

Where are how add this 'dir' parameter.

Hi Prat,

may I ask a few questions to help us start debugging with you.

- what version of CCS do you use ... do you use the latest production release 4.2.4?

- have you tried any examples and do they build without problem?

- can you send details/screenshots of exactly how you have been trying to add the directory? Are you planning on using the directory as a path variable?

1. I use CCSv4.2.1

2. I tried my earlier projects to find that they are okay . But this 'dir' problem is recent.

3. I would like to try using path variable in 'dir'. Can you give some examples usages.

Hi Prat,

ok, well it is always best to be using hte current version, so I would recommend updating to 4.2.4.

Regarding linking resources and path variables, I think a good place to start is here:

Please have a look and let us know whether this answers your questions and whether the information there manages to get you set up with the directory you would like to include.

Hi Lisa,

I have trouble in connecting.

I copy-paste the errors here.

Is it with the proxy settings in our network. If that is the case , can you provide an alternate way to update.

Hi Prat,

we have seen some other cases of update issue and actually are currently looking into this. So we will keep you posted. Instead of updating you can download the latest version ... it should accept the same license setup.

But we are working on getting the updates going again.

Hi Prat,

as it is not necessary the same thing you are seeing please check the following

- was your internet connection interrupted?

- are there error logs or a .dmp file generated that could be zipped and sent?

Hi Lisa,

- There was no interruption during the update process. I tried it for several times.

- I copy-pasted the error-msg that I got in the error-window. I dont know where CCS stores the error log or .dmp file when update is failed. I can send it to if you tell me the default location.

Hello Lisa,

I contacted logicPd for omap workspace in CCSv5.1 but they are not ready with them. Instead they suggested me to revert to CCCSv4.2. Recently they updated the BSL, GEL files to CCSV4.2.4 so I started using the same CCSV4.2.4.

Regarding the connection problem I wait for the concerned proxy people in our college. I shall update you ASAP.

We have proxy-server and any software that needs to be updated on-line needs these settings. I don’t know where to enter these settings in CCSV4.2.4.

Could you please suggest this will be help full in getting latest updates and to be in synch with TI forum.

Hi Prat,

first of all, in 4.2.4 is your include paths/variables working better for you now?

Regarding the update and proxy. In CCS, if you go to Window->Preferences just type proxy in the search/filter field there and it will bring up the proxy settings.

Hello Lisa,

The inclusion problem is resolved in CCSV4.2.4 .

I set the proxy but the error remains. Is it because ours is 'https' and the type supported in CCS is 'http'.

Hi Prat,

unfortunately I am not an IT person. Did you try the SOCKSS setting? I think it is worth first determining whether there is a firewall issue or update issue.

However, I am glad to hear that the inclusion issue is resolved.

Hello Lisa,

we turn off the smart firewall option in anti-virus software. tested for both cases: HTTP and SOCKSS in CCS-proxy but still the problem persists. Can you refer this problem to any network administrator personnel in TI?

Hi Mahesh,

First of all, I appologise as I think I lead you to the incorrect proxy settings. The correct ones are actually under the Install/Update settings. Window->Preferences->Install/Update. I have attached a screenshot below.

It by default will try to grab your Internet Explorer settings, but if you use a different browser you may need to copy and paste your browser settings.

That we are aware, the update sites are currently up and running fine.

What you can do as a quick test. Cut and paste one of the URLs in your error message into your browser. You should get a page or XML file. If you can not access the update site this way, then your university is likely blocking the site or permissions. In this case, you would need to contact your IT department.

Sorry for the delayed response. Last 3days were holidays here.

I tried again with the settings but now I get two kinds of messages which are mutually conflicting. I am too not thorough in networking.

Is it not possible to update from my system?

I would contact your IT.

One thing we can check. What were you looking to update? I understand you now are successfully using v4.2.4. What version of the tools you use do you have? I can try to confirm if they are the latest. If you have a set of code generation tools you need, these can also be downloaded separately, SYS/BIOS as well.
