A customer is having issues with a CCS 4.2.1 install hanging:

Hi,

1. As per Pete's advice below, I SELECTED "cg tools" and UNSELECTED "dspbios".

2. I started CCS 4.2.1 installation at 7.55pm. (Pausing Antivirus) 3. System got hang at 8.26pm. (Pls refer attachment).

4. I waited till 9.45pm and did force shut down.

Here is my system config and installed softwares:

Pentium Dual-Core CPU T4500 @ 2.30 GHz, 1.96GB of RAM

uTorrent, Adobe, GoToMeeting, HP Print, Intel Graphics, Java, Kaspersky, Matlab, Microsoft .NET Framework, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visual C++, National Instruments Software, Nero, Skype, TeamViewer, VisSim, WebWord, Winrar.

I believe my system is not unnecessarily loaded to be slow and hence I don't find anyy reason why it is getting HANGED.

TI FAEs mentioned the problem of Contro Suite installation error, not this hanging.

I shall confirm tomorrow if it is arising elsewhere. I will be in TI office tomorrow.

In my office I tried CCS 4.2.1 in 3 other desktops and it resulted the same. All is of high configurations though.

Well, the problem occurs from both set ups; the one I had downloaded from ti.com and the one in the memory stick.

I have tried both.

Hi Lori

Has the customer ever have a prior CCSV4 installation? Looks like there was some attachment provided to the e-mail. Can you attach it to this thread?

Hi Ki,

The images are of the PC clock and the hung install.

I've asked the customer to respond to the post with more info.

Hi Ki,

I had this 4.2.1 installed in system and later I had uninstalled it. Again when I installed, it has been showing the problem consistently. The same set up, but now the error.

Second, installation of "ControlSuite". The one I received in TI memory stick and the one I download from ti website; NEVER get installed; the error shows, "Fails to connect to server"... Though I keep on hitting "Retry" button, nothing improves. "Time remaining" digit keeps on increasing. The same problem at many other places also.

Pls advise.

For controlSUITE it may be a firewall issue. You can instead download the full .zip of the download - shown here in the blue box:

Hi Lori,

Again unexpected events occured in spite of turning off firewall. Pls find the attachments. Pls advise.
