EVM668LE and XDS560 Emulator

Hi,

I've installed CCS v 5.1, which supposedly comes with out of the box support for the XDS560v2 emulator that is packaged with the EVM6678LE evaluation board.  Unfortunately, my Windows system is not recognizing the driver. The Device Manager indicates a warning associated with the device and I'm unable to connect to the emulator from CCS. I've tried re-installing CCS to no avail.  There is a post in FAQ of XDS560 wiki which shows how to verify that the driver is installed properly, but does not elaborate on how to fix the issue: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/XDS560v2_System_Trace#Q:_How_can_I_check_if_the_USB_driver_is_setup_correctly.3F

  • Brant,

That FAQ is actually for the Spectrum Digital XDS560v2 emulator.  The Mezzanine card on that EVM uses a different driver.  Did you install the Blackhawk drivers when installing CCSv5.1?  You need those for the Mezz card.  If you didn't you can rerun the installer and it should allow you to add in the drivers.

Once installed it will look like this in device manager:

Basically each 560v2 vendor has their own drivers.

  • Hi John,

When I re-installed CCS, I installed all the emulator drivers. There are 4 options as I recall: Blackhawk, Spectrum Digital, XDS100 and XDS560. I also went to the blackhawk site, in an attempt to find the driver, to no avail.  Any other suggestions?

  • Brant,

Can you see what the warning is, or provide the screenshot from your device manager.  What happens if you select "Update driver"  or if you remove the device all together and then scan for new devices?

    Regards,
