License activation web site not working

We have recently purchased a floating license pack for CCS. As instructed, I enter the TI Activation ID into the myRegistered Software section of the TI site. The ID is recognised and the web page confirms that it is indeed for the 5 user pack. But when I then select the "Next" button nothing happens (i.e. the work flow does not progress to the Review Terms & Conditions stage). I have tried both IE9 and Firefox with the same result.

It would appear that the activation web site is broken. Please advise.

  • Hi Peter,

when was the last time you tried?   There were problems with those sites intermittently yesterday.  Also, is it v5.1 RC1 with the temporary license link that have tried?

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • It was a purchased 4.0 license.

I tried again this afternoon and the site seems to be working fine. Unlike yesterday it now progresses to the Review Terms stage and to the stage beyond that. So it looks like the problem with the web site has been fixed.

I do have one further question though. I did not actually complete the license activation because I was not sure what to put for the primary host ID. I can see what this would be for a node locked license. But what host ID do I use for a 5 user floating license?

  • Hi Peter,

Please see the following pages on setting up a license for CCS.    For a floating license the MAC address is typically that of the license server.  Please see this taken from one of the wiki pages I have linked to below.

This should help get you up and running.

    3. Floating License File (extension .lic)) for Code Composer Studio.

Register online at http://www.ti.com/activatesoftware with your activation code to get your license file.
Note: You will need the Host ID to be assigned to the license file. It is usually the MAC address of your license server host PC. This information can be obtained in different ways as shown in the procedures listed at the end of this section.
