Hello,

In Theia I can load my multi-core program and all cores run to main(). I can see symbols in the call stack for all cores.

However, just hitting 'Enable Core Group Operations' seems to break the source code display in the call stack. Please see GIF.

Nonetheless, Continue and Pause seems to allow cores R5_2 and R5_3 to run normally.

Hi Kier,

I think I may be seeing a similar behavior. It only happens with sync groups but not standard groups. Can you confirm this on your end?

Yes a standard group does not seem to have the same problem.

Kier - is the same program being used on all the cores in the sync group? If not, then why is a synch group being used over a standard group?

No, they are different programs.

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what a sync group does. I read its description in the manual and it sounded like something I should enable if it was supported. It was offered to me in the GUI at the point of group creation so I clicked yes, naturally.

Having now read the linked SMP article, this doesn't appear to fit my use case so happy to not use it.

BTW, was sync groups a thing in Eclipse? I don't recall seeing it.

In this case you should use a standard (non-sync) group. Otherwise the sync group will cause issues since the debugger assumes the same program will run on all cores in the group.

Yes. When you enabled a sync group in CCS Eclipse, you got this pop up:
