  • Hi Helio,

does this happen with every workspace and/or project?  Or do you just see this behaviour in the one project/workspace?  What OS did you install CCS onto?

What MSP are you using? What settings?  Would you be able to zip and send us any error and .dmp files?

Although written for v4, there is some information here on where to look for such error logs and files.

  • Hi Helio,

did you install CCS in the program files folder?  From the log it looks like it.  Would you be able to uninstall and install this in a directory outside the program files directory?  The reason is that Windows 7 is funny about programs writing in these folder.  Also please make sure to install with administrator rights.

Please give this a try and keep us informed.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

Did install before in c:\ with administor rights and I had the same problem, I only install in programs files because I have UAC deactivated.

Even before the final release of CCS v5 I had this problem but I thought it was a bug so I wait for the final release.

    Thank you,

    Hélio

  • Hi Helio,

ok, I will get you any feedback from the log files as soon as I have some.  Did you only install MSP430 support when installing CCS?

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

    Thank you for your help.

Yes, I only install MSP430 support.

    Hélio

  • Hi Helio,

we would like to look at any error logs or dmp files generated.  Could you please send these?   The logs you sent were simply configuration logs actually.

We have not been able to reproduce this so the logs would help us try to see what might be going on.

This is the wiki (see also above) about where to find such error logs etc.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

During this weekend I will post the log files.

    Thank you,

    Hélio

ok, thanks.  We will have a look and give feedback as soon as we can.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Helio,

could you please do one further thing.  Please search in the following location for a dump file (.dmp) and send any you find.   Make sure to look for hidden files just in case.   These are the most useful for us.  Also do you have a ctools.dll in your installation?

    C:\Users\<user id>\AppData\Local\.TI\

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

I find the dmp files but I didn´t find ctools.dll.

    Thank you,

    Hélio

    Lisa

  • Hello again Helio,

actually, those files are unfortunately from your other installation.

Would you like/be happy with a webex session to continue debugging?   Do you have a few suggested times so that I can coordinate to see what works on this end?

We are in the EST (eastern standard time) zone.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

During next week I will let you know my availability so we can coordinate.

    Thank you,

    Hélio

  • Hi Helio,

ok.  Just keep us informed and we can try to set something up next week.

    Best regards,
    Lisa
