CCSv5 - Unable to select EVMAM1707 target

Just upgraded to CCSv5 in order to stay current and thought it would be a good time just before launching into development for our in-house board design (plus get back to using the nicer editor I've been used to with more recent versions of Eclipse!).

However, I don't seem to be able to select the EVMAM1707 target any more. Immediately after importing my CCsv4 project, the IDE flagged a target configuration problem. I used to select the "Spectrum Digital DSK-EVM PLUS onboard USB Emulator", which then allowed me to tick the EVMAM1707 box & continue. In CCSv5, there are no options available if I select that emulator. Apparently the Free licence allows me to use the XDS100v2 (which I hope will arrive in the next day or so), or any Spectrum Digital EVM boards, but I'm not seeing it.

Anyone spot the obvious noob mistake? I'm sure I must be missing something simple...

Cheers, Jeremy

  • Hi Jeremy,

It should still be supported. Are you using the CCSv5.1 release?

The only thing I can think of is if you did a custom install and the device files for your device did not get installed

  • I am using v5.1 - freshly downloaded/installed on Friday. Although I used a Custom configuration, I simply de-selected all the DSP-related options, as we aren't using these: I just selected the ARM9 CPU type & the Spectrum Digital, Blackhawk & XDS100 emulators. All of these options are available; I just don't get any options for the on-board EVM emulator.

I even tried copying the evmam1707.xml file from CCSv4 into the targetdb/boards folder in CCSv5. All that happened then was that I then saw "EVMAM1707" appear as an extra option when I selected XDS100v2; still nothing when choosing the Spectrum Digital on-board emulator.

P.S. Have now got running on XDS100v2. I guess this kills the urgency factor, but I'd still like to know how to get the on-board emulator going - I can see scenarios where I'd like both emulators running...

  • Jeremy - I tried an ARM only install and I see the same issue. It looks like a bug to me. It is currently under investigation. Thanks for reporting this.
