IAR/CCS on production programming

hi,

i have some doubts in IAR and CCS tools. my questions are,

  1. shall i use evaluation/ code limited  IAR wrk bench for production purpose?
  2. how can i identify its output code file ?
  3. shall i change its out put file format?

I am also have the same doubts on CCS also.

    Hi prathee,

    1 - this depends on whether you code will fit.  If you code fits in the code size limited version, you can use this for production code.  For IARs compiler, please see their license agreement.

     

    2 - CCS generates a .out file in your project folder. 

     

    3. - did my answer in your other post help you here?  You simply add a build or post build step as I showed you if you want a hex file or TI txt formatted file.  I IAR you have this options in the output tabs.  I don't have IAR installed so unfortunately can not send screen shots right now, but basically there is an output tab in your build options that allow you to again output various formats as an additional file you name.  If you need further specific help, we can try to help you but the device specific forums or IAR are also good places to double check.  IAR supports more output formats then hex and txt.
