C6000 Code Generation Tools 6.1.12 crashes many times

I am using CCS 4.2.0.10018 version and TI's pspdrivers 02_10_01 for my project.
(CCS is installed in D:\ and not in C:\program files)

And as per pspdrivers user guide, we have to use C6000 Code Generation Tools V6.1.12.

I am getting following error while compiling the project.

INTERNAL ERROR: D:/Texas Instruments/C6000 Code Generation Tools 6.1.12/bin/cl6x experienced a segmentation fault while processing
This is a serious problem. Please contact Customer Support with this message and a copy of the input file and help us to continue to make the tools more robust.

I have searched in TI forums and found that the solution is to upgrade to V6.1.15.

Since there is a dependency of pspdrivers 02_10_01 on V6.1.12, is there any other way to get this problem solved?

Also I have windows 7 32 bit Operation system and 2GB RAM.
Will increasing RAM help?

Durga,

I suspect the psp drivers were built with 6.1.12 and is thus mentioned in the User Guide, but I think you should be ok updating to v6.1.15. Between 6.1.12 and 6.1.15 you are basically picking up only bug fixes so there shouldn't be much risk there. This wiki page explains what the codegen tools versions mean.

I installed Code Generation tools V6.1.20 (latest in V6.1.x) and I don’t see this issue any more.
