the problem about installtion of CCS

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6678

Hi erevyone,

Recently, I uninstall the CCS 5.0.3 from my computer for some reason. But it occured when I reinstall the sofeware in my computer that the software didn't work well. The followings are the phenomenon.

1.During create the targetconfiguration file: in the "device" board, I cann't find the TMS320C6678.

2.Import a project from the mcsdk and build the project. there is some error. Then I right click on  the project name and select "Show Building Setting ", in the submenu "Include Option". It seem doesn't have a relation with system. It seem cann't identify the "CG_TOOL_ROOT","TI_PDK_C6678_INSTALL_DIR" and "TI_MCSDK_INSTALL_DIR".

For the frist phenomenon, I install CCS in another computer with using the same install pakeage which work well done. After compareing with the right computer. I found the wrong computer missing some files during the install like EVM6678L folder, c6670.xml, c6679.xml and so on. So I copy the files(just the EVM6678L folder, c6670.xml, c6679.xml ) from the right computer to the wrong computer . in the "device" board, I can find the TMS320C6678. and it can connect to the JTAG but cannot connect to core. I think maybe there is something wrong with my computer. I suppose that the system environment having something with that. Can anyone give me some advice. Thank you.

Best Regards

  • Hi Liang,

Is this related to your other posts?  I strongly recommend using the latest released version which is 5.1.    I also think this could potentially be related to the MCSDK compatibility I mentioned in my previous post.

    Please keep me informed.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

I have used the latest released version which is 5.1 and installed the bios_mcsdk_02_00_04_16_setupwin32 whicn is also the latest. But there is another problem. The CCS default install direction is "c:\\ti" while the mcsdk default install direction is "c:\\program files\texas instruments". I install them by default. After that , I can find the TMS320C6678.

But after I imported a project provided by mcsdk and builded it, a problem about RTSC occured.

    Best Regards

  • HI Liang,

did you install the mcsdk with the msa deselected as per the post and information I sent?  If not, please uninstall and install again doing this.  If you do not do this, then there is a know compatibility issue you will be running into.

    Please keep us informed.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa
