Hi,

I get the following error when trying to uninstall CCS 5.1.09000:

Error message said:

The uninstallation cannot continue. I checked folder C:\TI\CCS5, and there is only 147MB file remain, of which 140MB are in the eclipse folder.

Comparing with over 3G size after installation, does this 147MB mean the program is already uninstalled?

How should I treat the remaining 147MB files in the folder? Would deleting or preserving them cause any problem for later installation?

Zheng

  • Hi Zheng,

first of all, the ftp information from your other case has been sent so I hope you get it ok.

Regarding the above question, you should be fine to delete the remaining files.  I know it would have been nice if the uninstall had gone cleanly.

Please keep us posted.  By the way, it is perfectly fine to have multiple CCS versions installed.  In fact I have at least 4 versions installed myself.    If doing a such a setup, it is best to use separate directories.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

    Lisa,

I got it. Thanks for the answer.

  • HI Zheng,

no problem at all.  All the best with development.

    Cheers,
    Lisa

  • Hello Lisa,

I came to your thread today because of the same problem.

I wanted to followup on this and do not want to create an new thread.

There are two remains after the incomplete uninstall:

    a) The remaining files - that can be deleted easiliy, no problem.

    b) The entries in the registry. How to proceed with these as the control panel still shows  a CCS5.1 installed?

    Greetings

  • Hello Friedrich,

Unfortunately we don't really have documentation or guidance on registry clean up.

The best I can advise is to carefully remove definite CCS items.  It is always a bit dangerous at times modifying the registry manually.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa
