How to install older DSP/BIOS in CCS5.03?

Hi

I am building a legacy CCS3.3 project in CCS 5.03 and need to use DSP/BIOS 5.31.02 and CGT 6.1.13.

Is there a way that I can install these in CCS5.03 such that they appear in the drop down lists in Project > Properties > CCS Build ?

Best regards

David

  • Hi David,

the different versions of these tools can be found here:

    DSP/BIOS and SYS/BIOS

    http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/index.html

    Code Generation Tools

    http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Compiler_Releases

Please keep us informed whether this helps!

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • HI Lisa

Thanks, that is helpful. But how can I install these in CCS5.03 such that they appear in the drop down lists in Project > Properties > CCS Build ?

    David

  • Hi David,

ok you can add it by going to

    Window->Preferences->Code Composer Studio->RTSC->Products

    or by Help->Install New Software

Please see the screenshot below and let us know if that helps.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa

Thanks again. Please will you give me a download link for CGT and DSP/BIOS?

Is there a special TI link to enter in the 'Work with' field in Help->Install New Software ?

    David

  • Hi David,

I would get them from the links I provided and install them.  I sent both the BIOS and CGT links.   Then if you decide to try the Install New Software route, there will be an option for local and you can point to the installation.

    I hope this helps.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa

Thanks. Sorry I missed the links earlier.

    David

  • Hi David,

    no worries.  Hope that helps.

  • Hello,

I had the same problem with CCSv5.2 and DSP/BIOSv5.41.13.42. I tried to add with the help of "Window->Preferences->Code Composer Studio->RTSC->Products", as you suggested, but I got result as below:

There is no annotation "DSP/BIOS" in the "Discovery tools" window and I still get the message: "No DSP/BIOS tools are currently installed!". Any ideas?

    Regards

    Mirosław

  • Hi Miroslaw,

    a couple things.

    - please put new queries like this in a new post.  It helps us more efficiently help you!

    - regarding you problem.  One thing I would try, and please keep us informed, is moving things out of the program files directory.  Give that a try.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa

  • Hello Lisa,

Previously there were installed CCS4, CCS5v03 and CCS5.2 on the same computer. And the problem appeared. Considering your suggestion, I uninstalled all the CCS and installed only CCSv5.2 and DSP/BIOS5xx in c:/TI folder.  Now during creating a new project, opens the window as below and there isn’t option “Empty DSP/BIOS project” as previous occurred. However it is possible of running DSP/BIOS programs with selecting “Empty project”. It seems to me the problem has disappeared! Thanks for your support!

  • Hi Miroslaw,

empty DSP/BIOS has now become Empty RTSC Project.  Give that a try.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

but in the Empty RTSC Project doesn't exist DSP/BIOS (exists only SYS/BIOS) option (as below).

    Kind Regards

    Mirek

  • Hi Miroslaw,

ok, try the following.  Create a normal empty project.  With the project selected go to File->New->DSP/BIOS v5.x Configuration File.

This should allow you to make the project a BIOS project using the older version.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

OK, it works! Many thanks for your support.

  • Hi Miroslaw,
