CODECOMPOSER: CCSv7 meta-data cannot be read by newer versions of CCS(device is TMS320C6747)

Part Number: CODECOMPOSER

Tool/software:

Hi.

When I try to import a project designed with CCSv7 into CCSv8 or CCSv12, I get the message "Import failed for project 'DSP' because its meta-data can't be interpreted. Please contact support." and I can't import it.

('DSP' is the project folder name)

CCSv7.4.0.00015 -> CCSv8.3.1.00004

CCSv7.4.0.00015 -> CCSv12.0.0.00009

The same message appears in either case.

Question:
Does the meta-data format change significantly depending on the version?

Are there any restrictions on the versions that can successfully load CCSv7.4.0.00015 meta-data?

Thanks.

  • Hello,

    Does the meta-data format change significantly depending on the version?

    It can, but CCS can usually migrate the project. I was able to migrate a sample C6747 project from CCS 7.4 to CCS 12.8 without issue.

    There must be something specific with your environment.

    Can you provide the three .*project files in the project folder so that I can take a look?

    Thanks
