CODECOMPOSER: GitLens not working - Untrusted workspace

Part Number: CODECOMPOSER

Tool/software:

Hi,

I am using CCS 20.2.0.12 and I installed the GitLens extension from the Extensions pane.  However it can't open the git repository – it says "Untrusted workspace" and "Unable to open repositories in Restricted Mode."  See the below picture:

When I click "Manage Workspace Trust," it opens a window saying that the link can't be opened and I should try looking for a compatible app in the Microsoft Store.  Clicking "Browse Microsoft Store" just opens the Store searching for "command" which is of course not a valid query.

Please help me get GitLens working.  CCS 20 is advertised to be based on Theia and to support VS Code extensions, and Theia does say they support GitLens, so I expect it to work in CCS.

Thanks,

Charlie

  • Hi Charlie,

CCS 20 is indeed based on Theia IDE. However, we do make some changes to the IDE so that it best works with our CCS components. While we expect good compatibility with the extensions on the Open VSX registry, there are no guarantees.

    Thanks

    ki

  • Hi Ki,

I understand that there are no guarantees, but considering GitLens is a very popular extension, can the CCS software team look into resolving the bug that prevents the GitLens extension from working?

    Thanks,

    Charlie

  • I discussed this with the engineering team. At first glace, they are not sure what the issue is. We will investigate.

How did you install the extension? From the extensions view inside the CCS IDE?

  • Ki,

Yes, I installed it from the extensions view inside the CCS IDE.  I am running Windows 11 by the way.

    Regards,

    Charlie
