how to use tms320c6713 dsk with win 7

I am trying to use  tms320c6713 dsk kit  with win 7, I got CCS v3.1 with the kit driver v3.1 on a CD with the kit, I tried to install them on win7 but the software doesnt work, I downloaded ccs v5 but it doesnt see or communicate with the kit, I tried to install the driver v3.1 with ccs v5 with no result, what can I do to operate it????

  • CCSv5 + C6713DSK will work on Win 7, I have used this combination.  When you install CCS you need to make sure you install the Spectrum Digital drivers.  When creating a target configuration you select the "Spectrum Digital DSK-EVM-eZdsp onboard USB Emulator" as the connection and then DSK6713 for the device/board.

  • How can I get the installation of the spetrum digital driver???????

  • The option to install the Spectrum Digital drivers is presented during installation:

You can update an existing installation and add additional features by just running the installer again and pointing it to your existing installation.

  • Dear John, I have followed all the aforementioned steps but it show error " Selected device is no longer supported by compilers of version 8.0.0 or higher.". Please help me. Currently I am working in Windows 10 system.
  • It is possible to add an older version of the compiler to your installation. I don't have access to a windows machine today so I am unable to show the exact steps. However here is my best recollection. Go to Help -> Install New Software. In the dialog that opens there will be a box at the top where you select the update site to use. I believe it is labelled "work with". Select the code generation tools update site in that box. It will now populate the box at the bottom with available updates organized in categories. Under TI Compiler Updates look for C6000 Compiler. There will be entries for the latest 7.4.x compiler and 6.4.x compiler. I believe the 7.4 compiler still has support for C671x devices, if not the 6.4 does for sure.
