what is ctools.dll ?

Dear all,

I see some answers of posts that mention about a file named "ctools.dll",

And sometime this file is asked to be renamed.

So my questions:

1.What is the function of "ctools.dll" ?

2.Where is it located?

3.When should it be renamed/removed?

Hi Lucifar,

ctools.dll is involved is some of the more advanced debugger features (eg watchpoint). This is why it is sometimes associated with debug crashes. Renaming the dll will allow debugging and CCS to continue functioning as normal without some of these higher level debug features. You only need to attempt renaming it should you have debug crashes.

You should see it under your CCS install directory under the emulation folder is a good place to search.
