CCS v3.3 for TMS320TCI6482 DSK

Hi,

I am trying to run CCS version 3.3 on a virtual machine(OS is Windows XP SP3) hosted on VMWare ESX 4.1/5.0.

All the required packages gets installed and even the drivers for the target board gets recognized automatically.

But when the CCS application is started, I get I/O error for USB enumeration.

This works fine with VMplayer though.

Has anyone tried running CCS with ESX based Virtual machines for target board 6482 DSK?

Shashi,

It would be worth downloading CCSv5.1 to see if it works better. The Spectrum digital drivers included in that release are much newer. For the onboard emulation on the DSK you can use a free license for CCSv5 (it will give you the option to generate one the first time you run CCS).

Hi John,

Tried and tested. But I am getting the same error. I am in touch with VMWare guys here.

They want to know what type of data transfer is used by the DSP device. Is it asynchronous?

Shashi,

The driver interface for CCS is asynchronous. i.e. CCS talking to the driver on the host.

Hi,

One more question from VMWare. Sorry to bother, but, I was not able to get this error from manual. Below is the query.

"In order to understand the error reported by CCS, decode what the following error means from CCS (you can get the details from CCS manual)

Error connecting to the target:

Error 0x80002280/-1250".
