In the latest Theia released a few day ago, github copilot is now supported out of box.

When is CCS exspected to upgrade to this version of Theia?

 

From Theia help->about:

Eclipse Theia IDE

Version 1.68.200

VS Code API Version: 1.108.0

    We plan on updating the Theia IDE version in CCS 21.0 (planned towards the end of 2Q of this year).

    Note that the support looks to be better copilot model and setup integration with the built in Theia AI feature and not in regards to using the official copilot VS Code extension.
