Flash Programmer for 2812

Is there a stand-alone flash programmer for the F2812?  Why do I have to go through debugging in order to flash a device?  I have images from previous builds that need to be flashed, and I cannot find a stand-alone programmer.

CCS v5 is TERRIBLE!  So difficult to use and non-intuitive.  Thanks for ruining the product!

  • Hi James,

what emulator do you use?  Both Spectrum digital and Blackhawk offer flash programmers (stand alone and I believe free) for the C2000 devices.  Elprotronic (www.elprotronic.com) also has one but I do not think it is a free one.

Please keep us informed.   I am sorry to hear you find CCSv5 hard to use.

  • I use XDS510 USB.

As I said, the issue is that I have legacy code (from 3.3) that needs to be verified and therefore needs to be loaded in a device.  However, I cannot load it.  Going through the debug menu is needlessly burdensome.  You used have have a separate programming interface.  But I don't see that any more.

It seems there should be a simple way to program a device.  Don't you agree?

Thank you for the prompt reply,

  • Hi James,

Here are a couple options for you

If you would prefer it or only have hex files, then have a look at the tool from spectrum digital which should work with your emulator and is stand alone and I believe free

TI does offer this command line option via loadti.   So you may also use this and pass it the target and .out file.  If you don't have .out files, then the above option will be the one to choose.

Please keep us informed whether this helps.
