CCS4.2.3.00004 Compatibility Issue with Windows 7 64bit



Hi,

Need help for advise on the compatibility issue of the CCS v4.2.3 with the Windows 7 64bit.

Currently using the EKS-LM3S9B92. Followed the Userguide closely and everything behaved as the guide until the instruction of click Debug Active Project. Nothing happened, i.e no connection was established to the board. Subsequently CCS hang at start-up every time at the point where it is trying to load the workbench.
Later managed to have the board connection, which took more than 7 minutes.

However, my system encounter problems like bluescreen whereby I believe it is some conflict but I have only the mouse and keyboard connected.
Tried to install the same into the Windows XP, and everything seems to run smoothly.

Kindly advise on how to resolve the issue. Do advise if there is any additional information required to help me to solve the problem. Thanks.

    what might help us try to see if we can figure this out is the following

    - a bit further detail.  Does this crash only occur on entering debug?  Does it occur for all of your projects and workspaces? Ie how reproduceable is this?  Perhaps a little more detail on exactly what you are experiencing

    - it would be interesting if you could continue on your search for something like a conflict .... also with things like bluetooth, wireless cards etc

    - would you be able to send us any error logs or dump files (.dmp) generated?  This wiki has further information on those

    - one thing you can also try is to rename ctools.dll to see if that helps.

    Thanks for the information. I have currently moved to Windows XP temporary for my work and it has no issues at all. I am pending on the arrival for the new LM3S9D96 EVM to try it out on the Windows 7 to see if the same issue occur. Will be expecting the arrival this week and feedback to you on the status again.     Thanks for the follow up. Updated CCS via a pull-down menu in the IDE and the issue resolved.
