TMS320VC33: I need of .gel file

Part Number: TMS320VC33

Hello,

We are currently working with the TMS320VC33 in Code Composer and need the corresponding .gel file for device initialization and debugging support.

We previously had this file, but unfortunately the only system still running that contained it was corrupted, and we were unable to recover it.

Could you please let us know whether a .gel file for the TMS320VC33 is still available, and if so, how we can obtain it? If it is no longer distributed, we would appreciate any guidance on the recommended alternative for configuring this device in Code Composer.

If needed, we can provide additional details about the Code Composer version and our hardware setup.

    While, as noted in the product folder, there is no longer any design support for this device, I will do some digging to see if I can help. 

    What version of Code Composer are you using?

    Right now i have code composer 7.4. I tried installing the service pack SPRC153.exe but that did not work with this version. If we in some way could get a hold of an older installation containing the .gel file, that would work as well.

    Theodor - the VC33 is very old and hence you need an extremely old version of the tools. The last version to support the VC33 would be Code Composer v4.1x (released in the late 1990s). Note that this is "Code Composer" and not "Code Composer Studio". The "Code Composer" line predates the entire "Code Composer Studio" line.

    I assume you mean Code Composer STUDIO 7.4. This version would not support the VC33. No version of Code Composer Studio would.

    I looked in my old Code Composer for C3x/C4x installation for any applicable *.gel files and I can only find:

    init.gel

    This is the gel file I see used when I launch CC configured for a VC33 simulator. If this is  not the gel file you are looking for, then it must be a custom one your organization created or from a 3rd party. I don't have any knowledge of it.

    Yes i know its really old, we have long service periods, hence the old hardware. 

    Yes sorry i meant Code Composer STUDIO 7.4.

    Okey so even if i would try to import and run with this gel file, it would not work? 

    If that is the case, would you be able to to supply us with an installation medium for Code Composer for C3x/C4x?
