Once upon a time, I would double click on the source code line and a "code composer studio" type breakpoint would be set (larger blue circle w/ checkmark). Somehow I managed to set something and now whenever I double click on the source code line left margin, I get a different type of breakpoint (smaller blue circle). Can someone tell me how to get back to the "code composer studio" type breakpoints on a double click???

Hi Richard,

Sounds like you have manually overrided the default breakpoint type for the editor, there should be an option in the 'Run' menu to switch back to CCS breakpoint type.

That worked - thanks. Now I notice I can only set them with a double click. Another double click places a second one in the same place. C/C++ breakpoints toggle between setting and removing with double clicks. How do I get the ccs breakpoints to work that way?

It should work the same way as C/C++ breakpoint. The toggle action applies to the breakpoint type you have selected. i.e if CCS breakpoint type is selected, then double clicks will toggle CCS breakpoint, and the same for C/C++ breakpoint type.

So thats what I thought as well. What actually happened was with each double click, additional identical breakpoint(s) were set.

That was earlier. Now when I try - it works as advertised. I've tried a couple times to replicate what I was doing without success. Either I'm going crazy or the are GREMLINS are having fun with me. In any case I'm able to make progress and moving on.

How can I enable CCS breakpoints in a makefile project? Currently Run/Breakpoint Types is only showing C/C++ Breakpoints.

Mario,

Open the .project file in your project and add 'com.ti.ccstudio.debug.ccsBreakpointNature' to the nature section at the end of the file. You might need to close the project and open it again.

I have the opposite problem, my CCS always gives only one breakpoint type: clicking Run->Breakpoint Types, I can see only the CCS breakpoint type. Since I'm debugging with gdb remote, I need a C/C++ breakpoint type. Which attribute should I add to the nature item in .project file?

Francesco,

Did you have a CCS Project for your remote GDB debug session? For gdb debugging that requried C/C++ breakpoint, you will need a C/C++ Project or Makefile Project instead of a CCS Project.
