AM62A7: Debug procedure

Hi,

I have been working on SK-AM62A7-LP evolution board. After booting i have created a C file and compiled it and run it worked well but i want to debug the code from CCS 20.04 unfortunately unable to create a c/c++ project. I had searched on google but i don't get any references in previous CCS 12 it was there but i want to do it from CCS20.04. Please provide some document on how to create C/C++ project in CCS 20.04 and debug the code using either JTAG/GBD tool.

Hi,

Are you trying to create project from scratch? Why are you not trying to modify the empty example provided in SDK?

The empty examples in the SDK are provided as reference which you can modify and build your custom application so you don't have to start from scratch.

Hi tushar,

Sry for the late reply. can you please explain me how to use ccs project as c/c++ project for linux code debugging. mention the procedure for doing that and i want to use gnu/gcc compiler for this project.

Thanks for providing this document but in this project, creating and building of project is not provided. is there any other procedure for creating the c/c++ project in that only the project creation, building and debug can be done.

As you can see the official documentation of AM62Ax Linux SDK, the getting started guide list the tools used for development. The document says about building the SDK using makefiles only. This does means the SDK can only be built using makefiles and CCS based building is not supported.

Please refer Overview_Getting_Started_Guide for details.

Now i am able to create c/c++ project and build the code. I am unable to debug the code using GDB in CCS20.4. Is there any procedure for remote debugging in CCS20.4.

Are you able to build Linux application in CCS? or is this the MCU+SDK C/C++ project?

Can you try this with the latest version of CCS v20.5.1?
