OMAP4430: how to use OCP-WP to monitor L3 interconnct transaction

Hi,

We are using CCSv5 with a Spectrun Digital XDS560v2 STM and would like to be able to monitor L3 transactions.

In the OMAP4430 TRM section   '1.3.9 On-Chip Debug Support Description'   states that

OCP watch-point (OCP-WP):
• Monitors L3 interconnect transaction when target transaction attributes match the user-defined
attributes or trigger on external debug event

But we have not found that any trace data is coming from the OCP-WP when we select it under the Breakpoint-Trace menu.

We have been able to get Performance Probe data through the STM; so the connection to the STM block on the target is good.

Is there a Gel file or script that needs to be configured to turn on the L3 data?

Thank you,

Bruce.

  • Bruce,

Unfortunately I am not the most experienced in the OCP-WPs, but I talked to a colleague and it was mentioned the OCP-WP needs a trace export breakpoint:

You need to have an extra breakpoint to enable OCP_WP. By default, OCP_WP is not enabled due to the limited amount of hardware master supported by STM module. You need to enable OCP_WP by creating a Trace_Export type of breakpoint and select the configuration as in OCP_WP_export_config.jpg screen shot. I suspect the original issue that you are facing is that you did not enable OCP_WP via trace export.

Please give that a try and feel free to report the results.

    Hope this helps,

    Rafael
