CCSv5.1.1: build version of the download file has changed

Hi,

The build for CCSv5.1.1 download file was changed this week.

Original file version was 5.1.1.00028, the new file (uploaded February 16, 2012) is 5.1.1.00031.

What are the differences between these builds?

Why was it changed?

    Hi Matti,

    If you want exact details, I can see what I can dig up but in general we do updates and services release from time to time that may include the following

    - bug fixes

    - including newer versions of supporting tools (eg a newer compiler version)

    So things like this.


    Does this help, or would you like me to dig further.  You are correct the download was changed yesterday.

    Hi Lisa,

    A new release should have release notes accompanied.

    I did not find any documentation in the release notes detailing what was fixed between 5.1.1.00028-->5.1.1.00031.

    Those two builds were uploaded one week apart.

    Many people installed 5.1.1.00028 and are now asking whether they should uninstall it and install 5.1.1.00031, or can they safely stick with 5.1.1.00028. Hence my question.

    Matti,

    The difference between builds 28 and 31 is that in 28 a bunch of simulators had been moved into a folder that caused them not to show up in CCS.  In 31 they were moved back.

    I would not bother updating from 28 to 31 unless you can't find the sim you need.

    The release notes were supposed to be updated but that didn't happen.  I will follow up on that.  I can add a bullet to the download page itself as well.

    Hi Matti,

    I did a bit of digging an apparently, although not in release notes, the delta is explained on the download site

    There was a 5.1.1.00028 posted previously.  The only difference between that build and this one is the location of some simulator files.  This build corrects the location so that the simulators are visible in CCS.

    The posted patch will also be based on Build 31, not on Build 28.
