AM6421: AM64 chip GPIO related issues

Part Number: AM6421

Hello,

We are currently using the AM64 chip and have a question to ask.
The BUFFERTYPE, E9, and A10 in the data sheet are I2C OD FS, but the others are LVCMOS. My question is, can I2C OD FS and LVCMOS be switched through software configuration? Or do E9 and A10 have to be external pull up?

  • The buffer type for a specific pin is a fixed implementation as defined in the BUFFER TYPE column of the Pin Attributes table. The "I2C OD FS" buffer type associated with AM64x pins E9 and A10 does not have an internal pull-up. You must connect an external pull-up, even when this pin is not used. This requirement is defined in the Connectivity Requirements table.

    Regards,
    Paul
