AUDIO-AM62D-EVM: "Reconnecting to TI Cloud Agent" message in CCS

Part Number: AUDIO-AM62D-EVM

Hello,

We have installed CCS (tried out versions 20+, 21+), but it continually shows the message "Reconnecting to TI Cloud Agent", and we are not able to proceed with connecting to the target (AUDIO-AM62D-EVM).

Please suggest steps to resolve this issue.

I also wanted to add that we tried uninstalling and installing the CCS several times with different versions of CCS 20+ including running the step of install_scripts/install_drivers.sh at the end of installation. However, nothing helped. Please note that the Test Connection with JTAG worked fine.

Can you try deleting the .TI-trace folder in your home directory?

yes, I have already tried that many times and reinstalled the CCS 21. But that didn’t help!

Hi,

On further trial and error, I found that if I pick the AM62A SK EVM processor configuration from the CCS21.x, I am able to connect to the target. But if I pick the AM62D AUDIO EVM configuration, the CCS is getting stuck with the message mentioned in the subject line. Note my EVM is actually the AM62D AUDIO EVM.

Pretty interesting problem - I spent couple of days continuously trying to get this working on my side!

That's interesting. I am able to connect to my AM62D AUDIO EVM with CCS 21.0.0 without issue.

Can you try clearing all the CCS Cachle?

I think I can reproduce this on Ubuntu 22.04.

Yes, I am on Ubuntu 22.04 and thanks for doing the needful.

Was the CCS not tested with this version of Ubuntu? I think TI still recommends to use Ubuntu 22.04 for SDK development.

CCS is indeed tested on Ubuntu. However it looks like AM62D was not in the list of devices for out test environment.

In the meantime try the below workaround:

-Browse to <CCS INSTALL DIR>/ccs/ccs_base/common/targetdb/devices

-Open "AM62D.xml" file in a text editor and modify line 5 from:

<property Type="filepathfield" Value="../../emulation/analysis/dpk/devices/am62a/AETT_database_ks3_am62A.jsonc" id="AETT Database File"/>

to

<property Type="filepathfield" Value="../../emulation/analysis/dpk/devices/am62a/AETT_database_ks3_am62a.jsonc" id="AETT Database File"/>

-Save file.

-Browse to <CCS INSTALL DIR>/ccs/ccs_base/common/targetdb/

-Delete "timestamp" file.

-Open terminal

-Browse to <CCS INSTALL DIR>/ccs/ccs_base/common/bin/

-run

> ./fsclean

-Launch CCS and try launching a debug session again.
