Installing 2 licenses on 1 server?

Hi,

I have a CCS V4 floating license file installed on a server. Now I have a CCS V5 floating license that I want to install onto the same server without combining the 2 licenses. These are 2 separate groups of users.

I tried it but the tidspsww.exe (vendor daemon) for CCS V5 will not start. CCS V4 is okay. I have assigned different ports for them. The log file seems to indicate that I cannot have 2 tidspssw.exe running. Is that true? If that's the case, how do I resolve this problem?

Thanks,

Gary

  • Hi Gary,

that I am aware, you are correct, two of the same tidsspw running together likely won't work.

Let me look into this to see if there is a work around, but there may not be.   One thing you could do, which may not be the solution you want is to combine the licenses into one.   A v5 license can be used with v4 but this will not allow you to separate the two groups of users.

Anyhow once I have any further feedback I will let you know.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Thanks Lisa. I look forward to the work-around as the 2 groups do not want to combine.

  • Hi Gary,

no problem ... I am digging into this for you but I am not sure what the chances are a work around exists.

  • Hi Gary,

I have been able to confirm the following for you.  There is unfortunately no real work around.

    There are two options

    - two servers ... on a VM or other machine.

    - you can have two license files but not separate the two groups.  Eg a v4 user could then grab a v5 license in this scenario

Sorry I do not have good news for you.

    All the best.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa
