CCSv5 Check Update failed loading eclipe 3.7.1 update and can't do it again

I ran Check for Updates today, and selected the CCSv5 Service Release for Windows 5.1.1.00031. It started up a CCSv5 install executable that said it was downloading a 103MB eclipse 3.7.1 update. The download failed due to an internet issue. When I restarted CCSv5, it claimed that the update was successful and I CANNOT get it to re-start it!

What do I do?

unfortunately we have seen similar situations and the only solution is a fresh installation.

Seriously? This is NOT good. Eclipse should be able to update itself via the standard eclipse update interfaces. Why did you choose to circumvent that with a Windows install (that can be broken) ?

Hi Gerry,

actually it is install jammer doing CCS installations. Unfortunately when things only get part way through it is really not a good situation for recovery.

Of course the standard eclipse channels are included in the updating. That is not the issue it is the partial/interrupted installation.

OK. I had thought that using the Check for Updates inside CCSv5 was the best way to update. I guess uninstalling, downloading, and re-installing the latest release is the best approach. Then, you are immune to internet connectivity issues.
