Really a not so problematic issue observed when investigating the "related" issue in a temporary workspace.

  • Close CCStudio after working in workspace "temp"
  • Delete the workspace folder "temp" in Windows
  • Restart CCStudio
    • It tries to reopen the removed workspace, and recreates the "temp" folder in its original location. Empty.

Fun fact: I have none of the AI agents activated that are now supported in this CCS version. They might have guessed whether the "temp" meant "temporary" and skip trying to reopen it, or "temperatureAnalysis" and not only recreate the folder, but also a reasonable contents that you might expect there.

I guess the observed behaviour is often a feature (wanted behaviour) and not a bug (unwanted behaviour). But a notification would be nice.

    Yes, this is expected behavior. CCS will remember the location of the last workspace used and if it doesn't exist, it will re-create the folder and use it.

    For a fresh install, it will use the default ~/workspace_ccstheia and create it if it doesn't exist and use it.

    What type of notification are you looking for? Something like "folder <name> doesn't exist, creating new one"?
