Update CCS v5.1.0.09000 Error

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

Current CCS installed version is 5.1.0.09000.

Tried update twice (from Help/Check for Updates) with this error:

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile=epp.package.cpp, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).
No repository found containing: org.eclipse.update.feature,com.ti.ccstudio.installer.win32,5.1.1.00031
No repository found containing: binary,com.ti.ccstudio.installer.win32_root,5.1.1.00031

Any one have any ideas?

Thanks, Jon

PS Also downloaded v5.1.1.00031 but could not get it to update the currently installed version; appears to want to install in parallel...not exactly
what I was looking for.

  • Hi Jon,

we are investigating this issue and just were able to reproduce it today.

I will update with any feedback/workaround as soon as able.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa

  • I reran all of the available updates one at a time and the only one that fails is:

      CCSv5 Service Release Windows 5.1.1.00031 com.ti.ccstudio.installer.win32.feature.group

  • Hi Jon,

just to let you know, although this is still being looked into, a working option is to download 5.1.1 and install this over your existing installation.  I have verified (using the full installer) that this works and after doing this you will be updated.

Sorry if this causes any inconvenience.  If further feedback comes I will post it.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Jon,

Have you simply done a new installation?

Please take the following with caution for now, but we seemed to have tracked to to be identical to an eclipse bug report.  So you can try one of the below work arounds for now if you have still not done an upgrade or install.  Please keep us informed how this goes.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

One of the users suggests 3 options, one of which is removing the update link and re-adding it. I’ve tried all three and they all work. I think we’re going to have to release note this one.

    1. As Mauro said: "you have to remove and re-add the Eclipse Project Update

site, so that its metadata are re-calculated."  - works as workaround

    2. Another workaround I found, is to edit the pre-defined URL link by adding

just a trailing “/” to the update site URL.

    3. The third workaround I discoverd accidentaly is to do nothing, but to

uncheck the 'Contact all update sites during install to find required software'

    before checking the URL link.

    NOTE:

Try the above first please, and if that alone does not work please delete the following two directories and try the above after that.

    P2/org.eclipse.equinox.p2.core/cache

    P2/org.eclipse.equinox.p2.repository/cache

  • Hi Lisa,

I should have gotten back to you sooner.

Per your previous post, I did an install-over of 5.1.1 and all is good now.

Thanks for your help and follow-up; it's folks like you that make working with TI
    such a good experience.

    Jon

  • Hi Jon,

thank you for your very kind words.  I always try to do my best.

    All the best with development!

    Best Regards,
