SYSCONFIG: F28379D SysConfig not generating GPIO31 LED configuration in board.c

Part Number: SYSCONFIG
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LAUNCHXL-F28379D, , C2000WARE

Hello,

I am using a LAUNCHXL-F28379D and configuring my project through SysConfig in CCS.

My goal is to reproduce a simple GPIO interrupt example:

- GPIO1 in my project configured as an external interrupt source
- GPIO31 configured as a GPIO output

I added the interrupt configuration successfully and SysConfig generates the corresponding interrupt-related code.

However, when I add GPIO31 as an output for the onboard LED, I do not see any GPIO31-related initialization being generated in board.c after saving the .syscfg file.

What I have checked:
- Saved the .syscfg file multiple times
- Performed a project clean and rebuild
- Confirmed SysConfig regeneration occurs
- GPIO31 appears selected in the SysConfig GUI

Expected behaviour:
- GPIO31 configuration should be generated in board.c (direction, pin configuration, etc.)

Actual behaviour:
- No GPIO31-related code appears in board.c

Questions:
1. Is GPIO31 on the LaunchXL-F28379D treated specially by SysConfig?
2. Is there a known issue where GPIO31 generation is suppressed when using XINT configuration?
3. Has anyone seen GPIO outputs not being emitted to board.c even though they appear configured in SysConfig?

Tool versions:
- CCS version: 21.0.0
- C2000Ware version: 26.00.00.00.STS

Any guidance would be appreciated.

  • Hi Sana,

Can you provide your .syscfg file? And corresponding generated board.c file.

    Thanks,

    Ira

  • Hi Ira,

    Thanks for looking into this.

Update from my side: I created a new CCS project from scratch with LAUNCHXL-F28379D using the same SysConfig - GPIO1 as XINT external interrupt source and GPIO31 as output for the onboard LED.

In the new project, after saving the .syscfg file, SysConfig correctly generates the GPIO31 init in board.c (direction, mux, etc.). So it's working fine now.

The issue was only with my old project. Even though GPIO31 was selected in the SysConfig GUI and I saved the syscfg multiple times / did clean and rebuild, no GPIO31 code was emitted in board.c.

It looks like some kind of SysConfig cache / migration bug from the old project. My old project was originally created with an older C2000Ware version and then migrated to:

    • CCS 21.0.0
    • C2000Ware 20.00.00.00 STS

I can attach the old .syscfg and the generated board.c where GPIO31 is missing, vs the new one where it generates correctly, if you want to debug why the old one was not emitting.

For now I will continue with the new project since it's working.

    Thanks
